Shanghai Conservatory of Music Party Secretary Lin Zaiyong recently met with British guests Professor Helena Frances Gaunt, principal of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and David Macfarlane Jackson, art director of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.
Lin extended a warm welcome to them and said that the SHCM would like to cooperate with the Welsh college in terms of credit recognition, student and teacher exchanges and performances.
Speaking of the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, Lin said the SHCM has long-term ties with the event, with two of their faculty members, Yang Guang and Shen Yang, among past winners. He hoped that the competition will continue to serve as a stage to showcase Chinese as well as other Asian talent.
The guests appreciated the reception and looked forward to working with the SHCM in various fields of music education and talent promotion.
