SHCM violinist wins ICMA nomination for best concerto performance


Wang Zhijiong, a violinist from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, won nomination for the Best Concerto Performance award recently at the International Classical Music Awards, one of the most influential record awards in Europe, according to the nomination list for 2019 released by ICMA.

His performance was accompanied by Philharmonic Orchestra from the UK under the baton of Thomas Sanderling.

Wang, also deputy dean of the SHCM Orchestra Instruments Department, is the only Chinese artist nominated by ICMA this year.

Consisting of chief editors of 17 classic music media in 14 countries, the ICMA jury has gained global recognition and respect.
