Shanghai Conservatory of Music launched on November 9 its Asian-Euro Music Research Center, a new academic platform for promoting cooperation between Chinese and overseas music schools.

Its first academic event, the International Workshop on Repatriation, which studied the history of early music recordings in China, kicked off on the same day.
Vice President of SHCM Yang Yandi unveiled the center and extended his wishes that the center will do its part in gathering those who try to learn from the merits in Western music and extend Chinese music traditions.
Hubei Provincial Museum, Chinese National Museum of Ethology and music colleges in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Shaanxi and Guangxi joined hands with SHCM at the unveiling ceremony to become partners of the research center.
