SHCM president meets with his Birmingham counterpart




Shanghai Conservatory of Music President Lin Zaiyong met with his British counterpart from Birmingham Conservatoire and famous cellist, Julian Lloyd Webber on September 15.

Lin said Birmingham Conservatoire and Shanghai Conservatory of Music have had many friendly collaborations. SHCM is building its new campus and opera house and its Vice President Tang Litu would visit Birmingham Conservatoire next week to learn about school building and management there.

Lin also invited Webber to attend the 2019 Shanghai Conservatory of Music Cello Festival.

Webber said Birmingham City University has faith in the cooperation and exchanges with Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and plans to have more cooperation in other arts projects. He expressed his hope that Lin could come to the opening ceremony of the new campus of Birmingham Conservatoire in March, 2018.

Tang Litu, vice-president of SHCM, Li Jiwu, professor of Orchestra Department of SHCM and Chen Xiaoyi, head of the International Exchange Office of SHCM, also attended the meeting.
