Liu Yan, deputy Party secretary of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, met visiting Pedro Rodriguez Navarro, chairman of Valencian Music Association, and his delegation on April 28, 2017.
Liu welcomed her guests and briefed them on SHCM’s history and development. She said this year marks the 90th anniversary of SHCM’s establishment, and she expressed her hope for SHCM and VMA to have more cooperation.
Navarro said VMA is a non-profit organization and has been established for 50 years. It aims to promote and develop the music, music education, and culture of Valencia. He hoped to learn from SHCM and China’s music educational system and its structure.
Zhou Xianglin, director of the Academic Affairs Office of SHCM, introduced China’s professional and mandatory music education to Navarro and his delegation, as well as the students’ employment of SHCM.
Sun Minghong, vice principle of Music School Affiliated to the SHCM, Deng Jia, deputy director of the Graduate Students’ Office, Chen Xiaoyi, director of the International Exchange Office of SHCM, and Cao Huaqin, guest associate professor of SHCM, also attended the meeting.
