Jakob Keiding teaches a student during his French horn class at Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

Jakob Keiding, an eminent French horn player from Denmark, gave an 11-day master class and a solo concert at Shanghai Conservatory of Music from October 31 to November 10 in 2016.

Keiding provided one-on-one coaching to each student of his class and taught them the control of breath and basic techniques. He asked Chinese students to pay attention to the emotion and expression of music works and played a few difficult tunes in demonstration.

His style of teaching and good humor won over Chinese students in the master class.

On November 8, he presented a solo concert in the school auditorium which was fully occupied. His virtuoso performance of sonatas and adagios drew big applauses from the audience.
