The student choir of the Belarusian State Academy of Music gave a performance at the He Luting Concert Hall of Shanghai Conservatory of Music on October 13, 2016.

Liu Yan, deputy Party secretary of the SHCM; Catherine Doulova, rector of the academy; and Belarusian Consul-General in Shanghai, Matsel Valeriy were among the audience.

The choir presented 20 songs, including Belarusian and Chinese folk songs. Their performance drew big applauses from the audience. Liu went on the stage to congratulate the students and have pictures with them.

The student choir was founded at the same time as the academy. It was led by Victor Rovdo, a “People’s Artist of USSR,” from 1962 to 2007. The choir is now a highly professional vocal ensemble and has garnered awards at international contests in Moldova, Germany, Poland and Belorussia.
