Jamal Rossi and Donna Fox, dean and senior associate dean of University of Rochester Eastman School of Music, visited the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in September 2014.

SHCM President Xu Yashu and Vice President Zhang Xianping received the American guests and exchanged ideas about music education, curriculum setting, and academic exchanges. They discussed the possibility of cooperation between the two schools.

Eastman School of Music was founded in 1921 by the famous entrepreneur and philanthropist, George Eastman, who was the founder of Eastman Kodak Company. It was one of the most creative and dynamic conservatories in the 20th century. Seven Pulitzer winners and many Grammy winners used to teach at the school.
