The 2014 San Francisco-Shanghai Chamber Music Festival was held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music from March 9 to 16. A 12-member group from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music joined the festival.

They took part in joint practices and watched orchestra rehearsals and string classes at the SFCM.

SHCM Vice President Zhang Xianping had a meeting with David H. Stull, president of the SFCM. They discussed preparations for the 2015 music festival and matters concerning academic exchanges and cooperation between the two conservatories.

Artists from the two schools collaborated in two chamber music concerts on March 13 and 14 and played four commissioned pieces composed especially for the festival.
