The 3rd SHCM-SFCM Chamber Music Festival took place in Shanghai from March 31 to April 4, 2013.

A 12-member delegation from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music attended this year’s festival. During their stay here, five American professors gave master classes to Chinese students majoring in piano and student ensembles.

They also held lectures with Chinese professors at the conservatory. The lectures on music history and techniques gave Chinese students a whole new level of music experience.

Professors and students of both schools collaborated in two concerts at the campus, which, like in previous years, consisted of classic pieces and new compositions.

First held in 2011, the chamber music festival takes place alternatively in San Francisco and Shanghai every year and has received good feedback from the public.
