Peabody student quartet from US attends music festival


Paul Johnson, professor of double bass and chair of the Strings Department of the Peabody Institute at the Johns Hopkins University, and violin professor Keng-Yuen Tseng led a student quartet to perform at the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival in May 2012.

During their visit to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music on May 4, the two American professors gave master classes to Chinese students majoring in double base and violin.

On May 5, the American student quartet gave a chamber music concert at the He Lvting Concert Hall on the campus and played Béla Bartók’s “String Quartet No. 4” and Antonin Dvorak’s “String Quintet No.2, Op.77”.
