BBC Philharmonic Orchestra musicians teach expert class at SHCM

A BBC Philharmonic Orchestra musician from Royal Northern College of Music explains the use of percussions to the students in the expert class.


Five BBC Philharmonic Orchestra musicians from Royal Northern College of Music gave an expert class at Shanghai Conservatory of Music on October 25, 2015.

They are concertmaster Yuri Torchinsky, chief bassist Ronan Dunne, chief bassoonist David Chatwin, chief oboist Jenny Galloway and percussion chief Paul Patrick.

Professors from SHCM’s orchestral instruments department and international exchange department joined the reception.

The musicians praised students for their instrument playing and they also made demonstrations to help students to further improve skills in some detailed parts.

They also thoroughly explained the deep meaning of music works and answered questions from professors and students.

The audiences of the expert class said that they have learned a lot in the class.
