School and Polish music academy seek partnership

SHCM officials pose with Polish visitors from the Academy of Music in Kraków after signing a letter of intention for exchanges and cooperation.


Lin Zaiyong, Party secretary of the conservatory, welcomed visitors from the Academy of Music in Kraków, Poland, led by their rector, Professor Zdzislaw Lapinski, on March 24, 2015.

The two schools exchanged information about their curriculums and programs and discussed details for academic exchange and cooperation.

Lapinski said their visit marked a historic moment for Poland-China cooperation in art education. His academy, founded in 1888, is one of the top music schools in Poland and offers bachelor to doctoral degrees in composition, musicology, instrumental music, vocal music and drama. Renowned Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki used to be the rector.

Lapinski also gave a lecture to SHCM students majoring in cello performance during their visit in Shanghai.
