Hu Kun gives lectures to violin students

Chinese-French violinist Hu Kun held lectures at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music from April 17 to 23, 2012 and received an invitation to be the guest lecturer of the conservatory.

Hu won the 5th prize of the Sibelius International Violin Competition in 1980 when he was 17 and he became the first Chinese mainlander to win a prestigious international prize.

He also garnered awards in Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition, Francescatti Violin Competition, Lipizer Violin Competition, Palm Beach Violin Competition, and Menuhin Violin Competition.

As a student of the late maestro Yehudi Menuhin, Hu claimed international recognition as a violin soloist and is now a world-renowned violin educator with students winning prizes in international competitions.
