Deputy Party Secretary Liu Yan of Shanghai Conservatory of Music met with Dr. Narong Prangcharoen, dean of College of Music at Mahidol University in Thailand and Dr. Earnest Lim, vice dean of School of Music at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore respectively and had friendly talks with them on October 18.
Liu welcomed the guests and briefed the Thai guests on development of SHCM, which has cooperated with many musical academies in the world. She hoped that Mahidol can be SHCM’s first partner in Thailand for teacher and student exchange.
Dean Prangcharoen said that Thailand and China are both Belt and Road countries and would have more opportunities to work together; He hopes actual collaboration with SHCM can kick off soon.
Dr. Lim of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts visited SHCM for the first time. He appreciated the hospitality of his host and hoped to strengthen the tie with SHCM so as to promote and spread music from Southeast Asia.
He also suggested more exchange of artists and performing groups between the two colleges.
