SHCM professor elected chairwoman of Asian Flute Federation

Shanghai Conservatory of Music Flute Professor and Postgraduate Supervisor Piao Meixiang has been elected as the chairwoman for Asian Flute Federation, after the latest election took place in Busan, Korea in August.

Piao has been working in SHCM since 1996 and is now flute professor at the middle school affiliated to SHCM.

She has sat on judge panels for many flute competitions home and abroad, including the Golden Bell Award, AFF Award and International Youth Flute Competition in Bucharest.   

AFF was founded in April 2008 by Syokoku Aoyama, flute musician and honorary professor of Tokyo University of the Arts. It mainly gathers flute performers and educators in China, Korea and Japan.
