Brazilian Consulate-General in Shanghai Gilberto Fonseca Guimaraes de Moura and his deputy Mario Antonio de Araujo visited Shanghai Conservatory of Music on September 10.
The guests were received by the school Deputy Party Secretary Liu Yan.
Liu extended warm welcome for their first visit and briefed her guests on SHCM’s development and strength disciplines.
SHCM has worked hard to embrace internationalization and would like to enhance academic exchange with schools in South America, said Liu.
The consulate-general thanked his host for her hospitality. He said that China and Brazil are both BRICS countries and have enjoyed active people-to-people communication over the years.
The ties with SHCM can be strengthened to promote Brazilian music in China and introduce more Brazilian artists to perform in Shanghai.
The two parties also discussed on Brazilian musicians’ visit next year and a plan to promote digital Brazilian music score.
