Foreign students attending the summer Belt and Road program receive certificates.
Foreign students at Shanghai Conservatory of Music finished their summer vacation program of “Belt and Road Art and Culture” on July 5 and concluded the session with a performance at the school’s lecture hall.
SHCM Deputy Party Secretary Liu Yan and directors from other academies of art as well as more than 150 foreign students attended the closing ceremony.
Liu congratulated the students on successfully completing the program in a speech delivered at the ceremony and urged them to become culture messengers between China and other countries.
As a part of the closing events, the students presented shows such as playing Chinese piano pieces, singing Chinese folk songs and performing traditional operas to convey their understanding of Chinese culture.
This year the program involved students from counties like Finland, France, Russia and Korea. They had masters’ classes, lectures and academic activities and also went to concerts in Shanghai Concert Hall and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
