Representatives from partner professional orchestras attend the annual meeting for He Luting Advanced Research Institute for Chinese Music and decide to launch the Chinese National Music League.

The Chinese National Music League was unveiled during an annual academic meeting of He Luting Advanced Research Institute for Chinese Music held on June 28 and 29.

He Luting institute is part of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

SHCM Party Secretary and President Lin Zaiyong gave a speech at the meeting, saying that the understanding of music of this generation might be refashioned by the next generation, so more research should be conducted in order to find the true aesthetics of Chinese music.

To inherit Chinese music and spread it to other parts of the world is the fundamental goal of the new league, Lin added.

A brainchild of the annual meeting held last year, the new league consists of partner professional folk music orchestras.

It will uphold the cultural confidence and an international view to cultivate national music talents, create art works and carry out more performances and exchanges.

This year the meeting mainly discussed about joint performances and pooling resources. Directors from troupes like China National Traditional Orchestra, China Radio Traditional Orchestra, and Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra attended the seminar.
