Chinese delegation members join hands with foreign partners at MIDEM.
Shanghai Conservatory of Music released two of its albums, namely, “Tang Xianzu” and “A Pursuit of Dream on the Silk Road,” at MIDEM, a global professional music trade fair held in Cannes, on June 5.
Director Zhu Weifeng and Deputy Inspector Wang Hua from the General Administration of Press and Publication, President Fan Guobin from China Record Corporation and Party Secretary and President Lin Zaiyong of Shanghai Conservatory of Music attended the event.
The SHCM brand was jointly founded by the school and China Record Corporation last December, with the two new albums listed at the top of its release plan.
As SHCM is the only musical academy with its own album brand, it has been invited to participate in this grand event.
Lin expressed the school’s appreciation for the General Administration of Press and Publication as well as the China Record Corporation’s support during a speech at the venue and expounded SHCM’s ideas on music.
He highlighted the school’s cause in leading the development of the music industry and announced that the SHCM brand will produce about 10 products every year.
Meanwhile, Zhu gave a high comment on SHCM’s efforts in cultivating talents and reform.
SHCM students performed a piece from Tang Xianzu at the event and won loud applause from Chinese and foreign visitors as well.
The school also signed agreements with Ermitage Records, Cugate, Musikmarknar/Song Acdemy and other institutions for cooperation during the fair.
