SHCM delegation has a friendly meeting with head and professors of Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini di Firenze in Italy.
Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai Conservatory of Music Liu Yan led a delegation to visit musical academies in Italy and Austria from May 10 to 17.
They first arrived at Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini di Firenze and exchanged ideas with the head and professors in composition, electronic music and performances during their visit. The two parties briefed each other on school histories and academic construction and prepared to sign a cooperative MOU soon.
The delegation also visited the library and museum for valuable instrument collection on the campus and attended an orchestra and chorus concert.
The delegation then went to University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) and was received by Rector Ulrike Sych and Vice Rector Christian Meyer and other school officials.
They discussed specifics about building together a chamber music research and development platform, teacher and student mutual visits, holding music festival and discipline cooperation in opera, composition and ethnomusicology.
Leaders of the two sides agreed to further their collaboration and add the negotiation outcomes to a new MOU framework.
