President Lin Zaiyong of SHCM has a friendly talk with Bernard Lanskey, head of YST Conservatory of Music.
Shanghai Conservatory of Music Party Secretary and President Lin Zaiyong met on May 22 with Bernard Lanskey, dean of Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music of Singapore and his colleague Jenny Ang, senior vice director of art management and strategic development.
Lin welcomes the dean’s first visit to the school and briefed the guests on SHCM’s development over the years.
SHCM and YST Conservatory of Music are both members of Pacific Alliance of Music Schools and the two can explore together a long standing mechanism to cooperate on an even wider range, Lin suggested.
He also mentioned that a directors’ forum for musical schools along the Silk Road initiated by SHCM would serve as a platform for broader cooperation among the Pacific Rim and Silk Road regions.
Dean Lanskey echoed Lin’s idea on the cooperation and looked forward to carrying out the plan. He stressed the importance for students to participate in the international exchange and would like to lay a solid foundation for long-term collaboration in the future.
YST Conservatory of Music was founded in 2003 and runs under National University of Singapore. It mainly presents bachelor degrees in string music, vocal music, piano, composition and percussion. In the conservatory, all tuitions are free.
