Director Géry Moutier of Conservatoires Nationaux Supérieurs de Musique et de Danse de Paris et de Lyon (CNSMD) and his wife visited the Shanghai Conservatory of Music on May 5. SHCM Party Secretary and President Lin Zaiyong welcomed the couple.
Lin said that Shanghai and Lyon have enjoyed close cooperation in education over the years while SHCM and CNSMD shared much in common in terms of discipline framework and teaching philosophy.
It is also suggested that the two schools work together on ancient music and instrument and hold concerts together to promote cultural exchange between China and France.
Director Moutier appreciated the reception and introduced about CNSMD’s recent reform measures of keeping the original feature of the conservatory while integrating music with different kinds of art form. He as well looked forward to their cooperation in the future.
Founded in 1980, CNSMD is attached to the Ministry of Culture of France and one of the only two national music conservatories in the country. It offers bachelor to doctoral degrees in music, dance, music education and dance education.
