Young finalists pose at the 2018 Johansen International Competition for Young String Players in Washington.
SHCM-RCM student Lin Yixiu has won the viola second prize in the 2018 Johansen International Competition for Young String Players.
Lin is now a third grader of the Music Middle School Affiliated to SHCM and is instructed by Sheng Li and Jiang Shan.
The Johansen International Competition for Young String Players was first launched in 1997 and is held every three years. It has been one of the most important international string music competitions for teenagers.
Lin followed SHCM’s traditional strength in string music and showcased SHCM-RCM’s innovation in cultivating young musicians.
