Rector Aiman Mussakhajayeva of Kazakh National University of Arts and Consulate General of Kazakhstan, Zhoshykhan Kyraubayev visited the Shanghai Conservatory of Music on March 16.

School President Lin Zaiyong received the guests and extended warm welcome.

The SHCM and Kazakh National University of Arts have long been friendly partners, Lin said. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, the two academies should strengthen and broaden their cooperation in music and art in the future.

As the SHCM opera house is undergoing construction, Lin invites Rector Aiman, other faculties and students from Kazakh National University of Arts to visit the SHCM and give performances after its completion. Mutual study terms between the two schools are also suggested.

Rector Aiman agreed with Lin in terms of the school development and the international collaboration. Kazakh National University of Arts boasts of its traditional art and folk music majors, Aiman said, upon which the two colleges can join hands and exchange ideas in the field.

Lin also thanked Kyraubayev for the consulate’s support to China and Kazakhstan’s artistic interaction. The consulate general also showed sincerity in continuing to promote the two countries’ cultural exchange.
