Five SHCM professors elected candidates for China’s ‘10,000 Talents Program’

SHCM’s successful candidates included in the list of China’s third batch of “10,000 Talents Program”


China’s third batch of “10,000 Talents Program” has been released recently, which includes five teachers from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

Professors Liao Changyong, Ye Guohui, Yang Yandi and Xu Yashu have been chosen as the Leading Talents in the philosophical and social science; and Associate Professor Wang Zhijiong elected into the group of Outstanding Young Talents.

These professors have enabled SHCM to outnumber other art academies in the country in terms of candidates elected for the program this year.

China’s “10,000 Talents Program” is a long-term high-level talent supporting plan covering a wide range of disciplines and departments, which would play a significant role in boasting the country’s innovation strength.

The program includes three levels for candidates: the Extraordinary Talents, the Leading Talents and Outstanding Young Talents.

The latest list has selected talents in areas including science and technology innovation, startups, philosophical and social science. Altogether 114 candidates from 32 units in Shanghai have won the honor.
