Shanghai Conservatory of Music President Lin Zaiyong visited Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM) from November 15 to 18 last year to attend the academy’s 150th anniversary events and gave a speech on Asia’s rising in the classical music.
Lin briefed his audience on the dilemma Chinese music was facing at the moment, discussed western classical music and modern music, and urged higher music education institutions to cope with these issues in a new era.
Lin also gave an introduction on SHCM’s efforts in promoting music education and international cooperation over the years and received positive comments from his counterparts from America, Austria, Britain and Italy.
A chamber music concert was also held during the period to celebrate the SHCM’s 90th anniversary, RDAM’s 150th anniversary and University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna’s 200th anniversary.
