Shanghai Conservatory of Music held a “Silk Road Music” project launching conference last week to discuss the Belt and Road theme music creation and research in the future.
Lin Zaiyong, SHCM president and director of He Luting Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Music, attended the meeting and appointed experts and senior researchers for the project.
Involving stage art, multi-media and marketing, the project is a strategic part of SHCM’s grand plan for the future, said Lin.
By cooperating with platforms like Great World Entertainment Center and Shanghai Art Media Program, the project will create cultural, industrial and commercial values, Lin added.
Dai Xiaorong, director of Art and Digital Media College of SHCM, explored the project’s main tasks. Based on the Silk Road materials, the project will focus on artwork creation, research and exchange and broadcasting. Music, media, drama, and other fields will be integrated to make new attempts.
Artists and executives from SHCM, Xinjiang Musician Association, Dalian Art College, Shanghai Theatre Academy and other related circles also attend the conference.
