Invited by the cultural section of the Chinese Embassy in France, 16 teachers and students from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music gave seven concerts in Paris, Caen, Strasbourg and Rosny-Sous-Bois from January 30 to February 8, 2013.
Their program included Chinese music “Dance of the Golden Snake”, “Dragons Rising and Tigers Leaping”, pieces from the French opera “Les Indes Galantes” and theme music for the French movie “Amelie”.
Nearly 1,000 people went to the concerts and enjoyed the performance of Chinese musicians.
For years, the Chinese embassy has invited top orchestras from China to perform in France during the Spring Festival.
The SHCM troupe included Yang Ruwen, Luo Tianqi, Niu Gongqiong, Tu Huabing, Wu Yanjie, Ying Yiting, Zhang Biyun and Futian Yabo.
