Han is entitled to the special allowance provided by the State Council. He is a member of the Theoretical Committee of Chinese Musicians' Association and member of the editorial committee of People’s Music. Han used to be director of the Musicology Department of the SHCM (2004-2015) and chairman of Chinese Music Aesthetics Society (2005-2015).
