A group of Japanese educators from the Showa University of the Music visited the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in December 2015.
Led by Chairman Kyousuke Shimoyakawa, the group watched the rehearsal and performance of the opera “The Marriage of Figaro” presented by students and teachers of both schools.
In his meeting with Shimoyakawa, the SHCM President Lin Zaiyong spoke highly of their cooperation in the opera. Both agreed to step up exchanges in the future.
SHCM professors Ge Yi, Feng Lei, Chen Ming and Chen Xiaoyi joined the meeting with Japanese visitors.
The Showa University of Music was founded by Keisuke Shimoyakawa in 1984. It provides Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in composition, instrumental music, vocal music, music and arts management, and other majors.
