The SHCM President Lin Zaiyong, Dean of Composition Department Ye Guohui, and Professor Lu Pei had a meeting with five overseas visitors on November 30, 2015.
The visitors are Owen Underhill, professor and composer of Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts; Mark Armanini, producer and composer with the B.C. Chinese Music Ensemble; Professor Dorothy Chang and her composer colleagues John Oliver and Zhuo Ruishi from the University of British Columbia School of Music.
They talked about the joint concert held in Vancouver a month ago, which was one of the activities for China-Canada Culture Exchange Year and expressed the desire to enhance academic exchanges among the three music schools.
They all agreed to share information about international music competitions and increase cooperation in composition.
