Zhang Xianping, vice president of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, attended the AEC annual conference at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from November 12 to 14, 2015 and had a conversation with Jeffrey Sharkey, principal of the conservatoire.
AEC (the Association Européenne des Conservatoires) is a European cultural and educational network with around 300 member institutions for professional music training in 57 countries. Its annual conference attracts leaders of music schools all over Europe.
The 62nd conference focused on the theme of “Quality, sharing and cooperation”. Zhang communicated with heads of foreign music schools and reached some agreements for cooperation and exchanges.
The Shanghai Conservatory of Music became a member of the AEC in 2011 and has attended the AEC annual for two successive years to broaden its horizons and gain international exposure.
