James Scott, dean of the College of Music at the University of North Texas, and his wife visited the Shanghai Conservatory of Music on May 14, 2014 and had a meeting with Zhang Xianping, vice president of the SHCM.
They introduced each other’s school and explored the possibility of cooperation in jazz and early music education as well as exchange programs. Scott said he hopes the two schools can establish partnership by signing an agreement.
The UNT College of Music is one of the world’s largest and most respected conservatories with about 1,600 students taking part in entrance exam every year for degree programs in performance, composition and music education majors.
